A workbook is a document that holds one or more tables. Each table in it is a sheet and shows up as a tab at the top of the workbook, like sheets in a spreadsheet. Every table belongs to exactly one workbook. Use a workbook to keep the steps of one job side by side: raw leads on one sheet, enriched contacts on another, a lookup list on a third. On your workspace home, each row is a workbook. A badge on the row shows how many tables it holds.

Creating a workbook

Click New workbook on your workspace home and pick a starting point: a blank table, a CSV upload, or a data source. Databar creates a workbook with that table as its first sheet.

Working with sheets

Adding a sheet

Open the workbook and click + to the right of the sheet tabs. Choose a data source for the new sheet, the same way you start a new table. The new sheet opens as a tab in the current workbook. When you send data between tables to a new table, that table is added as a new sheet of the workbook you are in.

Renaming a sheet

Double-click the tab, or click the arrow on the active tab and choose Rename table. Type the new name and press Enter.

Moving a sheet to another workbook

  1. Click the arrow on the active tab and choose Move.
  2. Pick the destination workbook. Open a folder to see the workbooks inside it, or search by name.
  3. Choose New workbook at the top of the list to split the sheet out into a workbook of its own.
The sheet keeps its rows, columns, and enrichments. It is added as the last tab of the destination workbook.

Deleting a sheet

Click the arrow on the active tab and choose Delete table. The sheet moves to Trash for 30 days, and you can restore it back into the same workbook from there. If it is the last sheet in the workbook, the whole workbook moves to Trash.

Managing workbooks

Renaming a workbook

Click the workbook name in the top bar and choose Rename workbook. You can also open the ⋮ menu on the workbook’s row on your workspace home and choose Rename.

Duplicating a workbook

On your workspace home, open the ⋮ menu on the row and choose Duplicate workbook (Duplicate table for a workbook with one sheet). The copy gets every sheet with its data.

Merging workbooks

Merging moves the sheets of several workbooks into one of them.
  1. On your workspace home, select two or more workbooks with the checkboxes.
  2. Click Actions → Merge.
  3. Choose the workbook to merge into.
Sheets from the other workbooks are added after the existing tabs. The emptied workbooks disappear from your home.

Moving a workbook into a folder

Open the ⋮ menu on the row and choose Move item, or select several workbooks and click Actions → Move items. See Folders.

Deleting a workbook

Click the workbook name in the top bar and choose Delete workbook, or use Delete in the row’s ⋮ menu. The workbook and all its sheets move to Trash.

Sharing a workbook

Open the Share panel of any sheet and switch to Share workbook. Anyone with the link can view every sheet of the workbook and copy data to their own workspace. Use Share table instead to share a single sheet.

Trash

Deleted workbooks and sheets stay in Trash for 30 days, then they are deleted forever. Trash appears in the left sidebar once it has something in it. Each item shows how many days it has left; a sheet deleted on its own shows which workbook it came from. From the ⋮ menu on an item:
  • Restore brings it back. A restored sheet returns to its workbook.
  • Delete forever removes it right away. A workbook takes the sheets it holds in Trash with it.
Delete forever cannot be undone.

API access

You can manage workbooks from the API, the Python SDK, the CLI, and the MCP server. These also let you set the order of the sheets in a workbook.
